Well, my house move is progressing slightly… though slowly I must say… it’s looking likely that I won’t have anywhere to live until the end of August at the earliest… I’ve now been homeless for about a month already and it’s marginally more stressfull than I would have anticipated. I’m so used to travelling around all over the place and being away from home, that it didn’t really occur to me that not having a home would have that much of an effect on me. MASSIVE thanks though to Rod and Boykitten, who have been kind enough to let me stay at their house for most of that time.
Admittedly, a week of this time has been spent shooting on location in Ibiza… if you’re going to be homeless, you might as well be homeless somewhere warm after all. Ibiza isn’t really the sort of place I’d ever envisaged myself going out of choice, possibly due to the reputation it’s earnt from the average British tourist… I won’t elaborate on this point, but I will go so far as to say that I was completely wrong. It has some absolutely amazing scenery, and a largely wonderful atmosphere. Best of all of course, is that you can quite happily start shooting nudes infront of 60 people, and no one even raises an eyebrow. Extra win!
I did, however, run into a small amount of trouble with the local wildlife… starting with a Spider Fish (or at least that was the loose translation… my Spanish skills are basically non-existent) which bit my left foot the first time I jumped in the sea. I don’t recommend this to anyone… it hurts like hell (and is still a bit sore now 2 weeks on). A trip to the hospital, several injections and a large stack of pills later, I decided I felt fine… so I jumped back in the sea and continued shooting… only to be stung by a jelly-fish on my other foot.
