En Garçon…

These are my first two edits from a shoot with Rod a week or so ago, based around an androgyny theme.

I attempted to create an (inevitably slightly foppish) boy hair style and do some fairly subtle make up to bring out my most boyish features… emphasising jaw line rather than cheek bones etc.

I particularly like the way Rod’s lighting in these pictures has created so much definition in my shoulders whilst leaving the more obviously female parts of my anatomy looking slightly less, well, obvious.

Another shot from the same set as “Tangled up in blue“. One of the pairs of earrings and the matching necklace (which you can actually see much better in the tangled up in blue photo) were made for me by a good friend about 10 years ago and they’ve always reminded me a little bit of Bowie’s “Aladdin Sane”, thus the title of this post; it’s also keeping in line with my theft of titles from favorite musicians – I think I’m developing a theme.

I sometimes have trouble deciding which edits to use, so I might as well post them all. Click on the images to enlarge.

I spent a lovely Wednesday morning shooting with Rob Ellis at my house this week. Rob wanted to do a series of natural light portraits utilising my hair in place of clothing. I really like the simple and clean results.

I think this image is my personal favourite.

Rob’s ‘floating head’ image… I think it works pretty well!

Sneaky cigarette shot… I bought this underwear during last summer’s Dublin tour but somehow have only just got around to using it.

Funny Bones…

… In a dark, dark house were some dark, dark stairs. Down the dark, dark stairs was a dark, dark cellar and in the dark, dark cellar two skeletons lived!

Or something like that… I did love Funny Bones as a child!

Anyway, these photos were taken in Madrid at the beginning of 2011 by the awesome Eccehomo! I’ve posted some of them here and there on the internet, but never given them all the blogging they deserve so I’ll be posting a few of these sets in the not too distant future.

You cannot actually see my skeleton in any of these photos, but the pig leg is genuine… I’ll leave you to decide whether that makes them more or less humorous.

I’ve just done a new edit of an old image, originally taken/posted sometime in late 2010 when I was first experimenting with making my own latex clothing. I’d like to pretend that I’m fantastically good at sourcing amazing locations but the background is actually put there with kind permission of ‘She Dreams In Digital’, the photographer is FireFish (links below).
