Purpose: This rope jam is meant to be focused on a variety of people and approaches to rope. It is open to all genders and identities – especially welcoming (but not limited!) to LGBTQIA, BIPOC, neurodivergent, and disabled people, of all body shapes and sizes. (Do note that unfortunately, our current venue is not wheelchair accessible). Please feel free to contact us in advance if you need specific accommodations.
Doors are open from 19:45 to 20:15 only! At 20:15 we will do a short welcome round. Tying is allowed until 23:30, everyone must leave the venue by 00:00 sharp. Please don't arrive earlier than 19:45.
We will have no drinks available, feel free to bring some drinks and snacks for your self, or to share.
Covid Guidelines: We ask that you take a covid self-test on the day of the jam, and take a photo of it. In the photo there must also be a handwritten note with the name you used to sign up and a “password” which will be sent to all participants on the day of the jam. If you can’t do this in advance, it’s also fine to do a test when you get here and show it to us, but please wear a mask until the test shows negative.
What to bring: Your ropes! There are mats and cushions available at the venue, but more blankets/mats etc. are always useful. If you want to suspend, please also bring your cutting tool, carabiners etc, and if you have, a suspension ring.
Consent: Please be aware that understandings of consent can vary, and check with your partner(s) before (and during) playing. Feel free to approach us with concerns, if you feel uncomfortable, disrespected, or that there was an incident or violation regarding your boundaries. We will do our best to provide emotional support and go through an accountability process as needed. Our priority is that you feel supported and taken seriously, whatever the issue may be.
Invite: Feel free to forward this page to friends and tying partners, but please only invite people who you know and trust to our jam.
We look forward to welcome you!
