Shibari SESSIONS
If you are curious about being tied by me, I offer private shibari sessions.
I offer these sessions for the following purposes:
Introducing you to Shibari: If you are new to rope and want to experience your first ties in a supportive environment with an experienced professional, I am happy to guide you through the session, answer any questions you have, and adapt to your specific needs.
Play, Exploration, Connection: Whether you're interested in the experience of being tied for play, or finding new ways to connect with your body, emotions, or other people, I can facilitate a session that helps you explore this.
Students: People who are in the process of learning to tie for themselves often find it useful to experience being tied by an experienced practitioner to help them understand the nuances of rope from the inside, and to help them empathise with the people they tie. I am happy to facilitate these sessions.
For certain people, shibari has the potential to provide calming effects, reduce anxiety, relieve stress, and help address a range of personal issues. While I'm more than happy if my sessions help facilitate your own process in some way, it's important to note that I am not a therapist, and I would strongly caution against anyone claiming to offer shibari sessions as a "healing" or "therapeutic" tool. I can provide a nurturing space for aftercare (usually in the form of tea and conversation) but I am not qualified to offer anything beyond this point.
My Rope Experience
I have 18 years of experience with shibari, both as a person tying, and as a person being tied. This background enables me to empathise with the experience of the person I am tying, and gives me the breadth of experience necessary to adapt my rope to many different physical needs. It has given me the time to deeply develop body awareness, and my ability to read, and hold space for, the people I tie.
My interests include "one rope" movement play and creating slow, simple flows that transition between suspension, partial suspension and floor, and I also specialise in dynamic suspension transitions, and more intensely static and restrictive ties.
Booking
To initiate a session with me, feel welcome to get in contact. It would be helpful if you could provide some information about yourself and your interest in participating in the session. In most cases, I will send a series of questions via email beforehand to establish your wishes and needs, and ensure that my tying style is compatible with your requests.
