TK Lab
Weekend Intensive / 5 week course
Unlock the beauty and potential of the Takate Kote (also known as Gote or Box Tie), a timeless staple of Japanese-inspired rope bondage. The Takate Kote is a complex tie, containing a wide range of valuable principles and techniques that have applications in many other areas of shibari practice.
Unfortunately, in recent years, the TK has gained something of a bad reputation due to the potential of discomfort and injury. Gestalta, who personally loves this tie both for its feeling and its flow, firmly believes that with conscious and skillful execution, it can be adapted to suit a broader range of individuals, including those who may have previously felt averse to TKs.
In this carefully crafted workshop, led by Gestalta, participants will dive deep into the different ‘families’ of TK. Gain extensive knowledge not only on the practical techniques for safely and comfortably tying TKs but also understand the underlying principles behind their specific constructions. Emphasizing the variations among different body types and how the rope interacts with the body, this workshop is designed to empower both tops and bottoms with valuable skills and awareness.
Join us in this collaborative and experimental environment, where ample time is dedicated to practice, experimentation, and the opportunity to learn from trial and error. Discover the true potential of the TK tie and its ability to create exquisite connections in rope bondage.
